Rachapruk: National Tree of Thailand

Rachapruk or Golden Shower is the National Tree of Thailand. The tree with showers of blooming flowers makes the surrounding so bright.

Rachapruk flowers fully bloom in March until April so they can be seen everywhere on the roadsides or in the parks in Thailand these days.

OMG! Nice A, baka naman pag umiwi ka pwede ka dala ng seeds nito, kasi di naman pwede ang seedling di ba?.... AWESOME.. talaga ... I know this is thailands national tree as I have been reading quite a number of travel books about thailand, pero first time ko nakita na close-up... ang ganda ... iLBC mulang sa akin .. ako na bayad shipment ... hahahaha!

BTW, college yung tinuturuan ko ... part-time only about three hours in the evening, kasi full-time mother yung day job ko ... LOL...

Development worker kaba diyan .. read in your profile ....

@Vicki, yes, they look really stunning in mass.
@Vernz, hayaan mo't ma-share ko yong ibang similya na napulot namin malapit dito sa condo, hehehe! Nice to hear you're doing part-time teaching in the evening. I used to teach pero ngayon part-time na lng din kc mas marami administrative job ko in one of the universities here. Thanks for visiting here regularly, sis.

@Stine, the king's birth color being Monday is yellow. Thais say he loves this tree.
@Carolyn, yes, seeing them all blooming is so delightful. I think they are scentless. We've been under a Rachapruk full of blooms just now to check out but haven't smelled anything.
Thanks for stopping by.
